drives for industry
pty. ltd.
(d.f.i.)
was founded in 1986 by John Scrase and John Beaver, both with many years
experience in the Power Transmission Industry, with the aim of supplying
quality engineering and power transmission equipment to industry throughout
the Goulburn and Murray valleys. The pair had
worked together elsewhere for several years and saw a need to service the rapidly growing food processing plants
throughout the region.
With a commitment
to customer service, quality products at competitive prices and 24 hour
support to customers, many canneries, abattoirs and packing industries were turning to
d.f.i. and
the company began building up an experienced sales team, supported by a
dedicated office staff.
By 1991 it was evident d.f.i. would have to move to a new site to cope with
the increase in business and staff numbers. A property on the
corner of Old Dookie Rd and Clarke St. in Shepparton was purchased, and a modern, spacious
office-warehouse complex was built to see
d.f.i. into the
new millennium.
The team moved into their new premises on Grand Final Day, 1991.
In 1995, John Scrase retired. Employees
Glen Wilson and Mick Dunne joined John Beaver as directors. In 2002,
John Beaver retired, and the company is now owned and run by Glen Wilson
and Mick Dunne.
The qualities the
company was founded
on - excellent customer service, a quality range of products and expert
advice - have remained its strengths throughout the years.
